1. Set your plot size, the road side and the units. 2. Add rooms and drag them into place, or try the sample house; every room comes with typical doors, lights, fans, sockets and furniture. 3. Tap a room to resize it, rename it or change its finishes; tap a wall to add doors and windows; tap a bed, sofa or AC to move, resize or rotate it. 4. Read the shopping list in plain words and print it.
Your plan is saved on this device (in this browser) as you work. Use Save as file to keep a copy or open it on another device. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you press WhatsApp.
Keyboard, mouse and touch
- Select: tap or click a room; Tab to a room on the plan; or pick it in the room list. Walls, doors, windows and furniture are listed in the Details panel.
- Move: drag what is selected, or press the arrow keys (one snap step each). Resize: drag the orange handles, or Shift + arrow keys. Exact sizes and positions can be typed in the Details panel.
- R rotates, D duplicates, Delete removes, Esc deselects. Undo: Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z); redo: Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y.
- Phones: the page scrolls when you swipe on the plan; the first tap selects, then drag what is selected. Use the zoom buttons for small items, and Pan to look around a zoomed plan; a drag in Pan mode never moves a room.
- Rooms cannot overlap or leave the plot: a move that would do so is put back, and the message says why.
Quantities are estimates for buying material, worked out from what you drew with the same formulas as the tile, paint and mix calculators. Doors and windows are deducted, wastage is added once, purchase counts are rounded up, and every assumption is listed and can be changed. Bricks, concrete, steel and the roof are not included: use the cost estimate and the other calculators for those. Nothing here is an approved design.
